Large Victorian wicker baby carriage made by Wakefield Rattan Co, Boston (label is on bottom). It has large wooden wheels and fancy fenders, featuring a curlicue design, over the back wheels. The carriage itself has an ornate frame with basket-weave along with curlicues and spindles. There is a parasol that hangs suspended over the top. The fabric in the parasol and interior were redone fairly recently by a previous owner. This is the first time we have had a wicker piece with a Boston label. The Wakefield Company had it’s main factory in Gardner, MA. A great way to hold and display dolls or stuffed animals OR many other decorative uses! C1890. Dimensions: 56″H (to top of umbrella) 52″L x 26″W. Finish: The finish was cleaned in the past. One small spindle where the umbrella attaches is damaged. Price: $1150.00
