Victorian Walnut Console

Lovely walnut Rococo Victorian console table with an inset marble top.  The gorgeous marble has a rich blend of reds, grey, creme and brown colors.  It has rounded front corners, a beveled edge and a slight bow to the front.  A gadrooned edge with accent carving surround the marble.   There are two elaborate open leaf carved  pulls  to open the top drawer.  The drawer is hand dovetailed and has a satinwood interior (a indication of exceptional craftsmanship).  The front supports feature deep carvings.  Notice the highly figured walnut grain on the drawer and front of the console!  I am convinced that this was made in either New York or Philadelphia due to the quality of the craftsmanship and marble.   We sold this piece to serious collectors in the Berkshires over twenty years ago.  They recently passed away, and I am delighted to once again offer this superior piece!   Circa:   1850.   Dimensions:   31″ H   x   35″ D   x    20.5″ D.    Condition:   Super original rich dark patina.  Wood and marble are both in excellent condition.  There is a crack in the bottom of the drawer that can only be seen when open.   Price:   $2650mtc1 mtc2 mtc3 mtc4 mtc5 mtc6 mtc7 mtc8 mtc9 mtc10 mtc11 mtc12
