Victorian Office Chair

Fabulous Rococo Victorian swivel office chair made out of rosewood (or possibly walnut – it is hard to tell).  It has a graceful finger carved frame with a carved crest and a wonderful shaped and carved skirt.  The seat and arms have been reupholstered by a previous owner and are still very presentable.  The back was hand caned at the same time (a very long and tedious job!) and is also in good condition.  The base has the same flowing design as the top and has two large applied rosettes on each of the legs.  The chair is comfortable to sit in and swivels but does not tilt.   It would have had an theaded screw adjustment to change the height in the past but that is no longer available.   Victorian desks are much more common than fine office chairs.  This is one of the best!   Circa:   1860.   Dimensions:   45″H   x   26.5″W.   Condition:  Good original finish with a lovely patina.   Price:   $1895of1 of2 of3 of4 of6 of7 of8
