Revolving Brass Stand

Rare revolving bookcase with a brass frame and fumed oak shelves.  It has three curved legs and rope twist vertical supports in the middle each with a fancy attached piece at the bottom.  A metal plate that attaches the base to the bookcase section is signed “Hall BM”.   While originally for small books this would make an excellent and unique holder for DVD’s as shown in the photo.  The top section revolves so that one can have it next to a chair and spin it to pick out the book (or DVD) desired without getting out of the chair.  A unique and utilitarian piece!    Circa:   1900.    Dimensions:   36″ H   x   12″ W   12″ D (shelves).   Condition:  Brass is in very good original lacquered finish.   The oak shelves have an original “fumed” greenish tint finish.  There are two small chips on the underside of one shelf (see photo).  They can only be seen from underneath.     Price:   $950.bb1
