Nash Art Glass

Lovely art glass vase signed “Nash 547″ on the bottom.  It has the look of Tiffany’s Favrile glass and, indeed, Nash was the inventor and chief designer of L.C. Tiffany’s glass studio.  If fact, Tiffany was more of the entrepreneur while Nash was the actual creator of most of the exquisite pieces produced around the turn of the century.  More information can be found at this link:   http://www.tms.org/pubs/journals/jom/0709/byko-0709.html.   This vase has a lovely iridescent color which creates a gorgeous amber/blue shimmer when looking into the middle of the vase.  The edge has a subtle ripple.  Tiffany glass is highly desirable but not uncommon.  Comparable items made by Nash are far less frequently found on the market!    Circa:   1900.    Dimensions:   5″ H   x   6 1/4″ Diameter.   Condition:  Excellent original condition with no noticeable flaws.    Price:   $875na1 back na2 na2 black na1na3 na4 black na4 na5 na6 na7 na8
