Ithaca Calendar Clock

Ithaca No 3 1/2 Parlor calendar clock in superb original condition.  It has an ebonized floral carved crest.  Below that is the smaller round black dial with gilt Roman Numerals.  This is flanked  by round columns and two floral elements.  The base has exposed day and month revolving drums with a round glass in front decorated with the numbers 1-31 indicating the day of the month.  Stenciled on the front is “H.B. Horton’s Patents April 18, 1865 and August 28, 1866.  Ithaca Calendar Clock Co. Ithaca, N.Y.”.   The inside of the door has the original directions for running the clock.  The clock has the adjustable original beveled crystal pendulum bob with the companies initials engraved in the glass.  There are four applied “carvings” surrounding the lower bezel.  It has a bell hour strike.  The sides of the case have shaped raised panels with a fancy applique in the center of each.   This is one of the most beautiful, desirable and collectible Victorian calendar clocks.  My favorite!    Circa:  1866.    Dimensions:   20.5 “H   x   10″ W   x   5.5″ D.    Condition:   Excellent original finish with a rich patina.  The glasses and pendulum are both original and in great condition.  The dial is in good shape.  There is a small chip in the applique in the bottom left side of the top dial (see photo).  It runs but has not been serviced or cleaned recently.   Price:   $4250cl1 cl2 cl3 cl4 cl5 cl6 cl7 cl8
