Fruit Decorated Centerpiece

Excellent large size Victorian center piece made by Forbes Silver Company, Meriden, CT.  It has that companies mark along with “quadrupel” and the number “488″ on the bottom (see photo).  It features a silver plated base with a winged cupid holding a a wreath.   The large bowl has a rich pink ruffle edge that flows into a cream color at the bottom.  Hand painted pears, leaves and grapes adorn the middle of the outside.  Blueberries and leaves are in the interior.  The metal holder for the bowl and base have a nice raised design.  A magnificent bowl made by a maker, who’s wares we have never had before, with a very Victorian motif!     Circa:  1880.    Dimensions:   13″  H   x    13″  Diameter of bowl.    Condition:   Excellent original condition.  The metal has the original silver patina.  Of course, the buyer can polish it if so desired.   Price:  $1150cc1 cc8 cc7 cc6 cc5 cc4 cc3 cc2 cc2
