English Center Piece

Victorian satin glass centerpiece with a fancy silver plated base.  The bowl flows from a blue ruffle edged rim to a white opalescent bottom.  The blue has an original gilt decoration.  It has concentric ovals that graduate from smaller at the bottom to larger at the top.  It is hand numbered on the bottom (see photo).  The silver plated base features three full figured birds standing on branches.  Hallmarks for Goodfellow & Sons, London are on the bottom (see photo).   The middle of the base is inscribed “Bank of England Rifle Association Won by Cor’pl W.T. Davis, 1886″.   A really fabulous presentation piece with interesting history!

Dimensions:   13″ H   x   10.5″L   x   10.5″W.   Condition:   The base has original tarnished patina (of course, it could be polished).  There is a small chip at the tip of one wing of a bird.   The insert is in good condition.    Price:  $995
