Chrysanthemum Punch Bowl

Great brilliant two part cut glass punch bowl in the Chrysanthemum pattern.  The T. G. Hawkes & Company patented this pattern on Nov 4, 1890.  (See page 2 in American Brilliant Cut Glass by Bill and Louise Bogges.)   This was one of the most popular and desirable patterns.  Variations were made by other companies at the time so I can’t definitely attribute it to Hawkes.  The bowl is exceptionally heavy and the cutting is deep.  The top edge flares out and has twelve raised sections.  The teeth on both the pedestal and bowl appear to be perfect – most unusual.  One of the best pieces of cut glass I have offered for sale!    Circa:   1890.   Dimensions:   14″ H   x   14.5″ Diameter.    Condition:  It is in amazingly fine condition.  It seems that few pieces of this age are absolutely flawless and I did discover two VERY minor flicks in two of the ribs.    Price:  $27505_2 5_9 5_8 5_7 5_6 5_5 5_4 5_3
