Large Marquetry Table

Magnificent large sized Renaissance Revival rosewood Victorian center table.  It has an extraordinary marquetry inlaid top featuring four multi colored  bouquets spilling out of vases, multiple bands of exotic inlaid woods and a center with a bear, trees,  wheelbarrow and a reclining farmer with his tools laying down beside him.    The skirt has a horizontal burled panel bordered with gilt incising and features a large central decoration with convex porcelain (probably Sevres) plaque on each side and a convex inlaid medalion on each of the ends.  The  legs are tapered  with a burled hexagonal shape.  A decorated large carved finial rests on the curved stretcher base.  It was undoubtedly made by one of the premier New York City furniture craftsmen of the period.  This impressive inlaid table is one of the best we have ever offered for sale!  Circa:   1870.   Dimensions:   30.5″ H   x   54″ W   x   32″ D.   Condition:  Very good original finish with rich patina.  Vibrant original gilt and ebony high lights with normal wear.  Some impressed finish marks in the top consistent with age and use.  Price:  $8995 Table 2 (1)Table 2 (8)Table 2 (9) Table 2 (3) Table 2 (7) Table 2 (6) Table 2 (5) Table 2 (4) Table 2 (2) Table 2 (2) Table 2 (10) Table 2 (11)
